Travis
Travis, one of the UK’s best known bands, return after a five year hiatus with their seventh album ‘Where You Stand’, out August 19th on their own re-launched label Red Telephone Box via Kobalt Label Services.
Sounding and looking more invigorated than ever, the Scottish band, with “Super Swede” Michael Ilbert (The Hives/The Cardigans/The Wannadies) on production duties have delivered an album of effortless, melodic pop gems.
The album kicks into gear immediately with ‘Mother’ – a bracing rush of harmonic pop with a chiming piano solo. It is soon followed by the nu-wavey guitars and drums of the instantly anthemic ‘Moving’ and doesn’t let up with the charmingly emotive first single and LP title track ‘Where You Stand’. This stunning collection of songs is brought to a dramatic conclusion by cinematic piano ballad ‘The Big Screen’.
Written and recorded across London, Norway, New York, and taking in a production stint at Berlin’s legendary Hansa Studios (as enjoyed particularly by Bowie-fanatic Payne, who revelled in layering famous synthesisers of Low fame onto ‘A Different Room’), the band ended up recording the songs on the same sound desk that produced both ‘Ok Computer’ and their own breakthrough album ‘The Man Who’.

The Alex:
Philipp Poisel
Philipp Poisel actually never wanted to become a popstar and still the singer-songwriter stands out of today’s popculture and sets benchmarks in many ways.
Since the release of his debut-album “Wo fängt Dein Himmel an” (2008) he captured the hearts of hundreds of thousand fans. An unusual story, a fascinating path grounded by Herbert Grönemeyer’s label "Grönland Records". The album sales of his two studio albums and his one live album have exceeded sales of 750,000; whereby all albums have been awarded either Gold or Platinum. But also as a live-performer Philipp Poisel can look at a spectacular career already, this year’s Open Air shows saw 10,000 fans in average, tickets always being out of stock quickly.
And yet Philipp’s concert are never about the big posture, they are far away from glam and razzmatazz. Philipp Poisel is the artist of the small things and strong emotions. He has this amazing capability to aim and score right into his listener’s hearts with straight words and express truths, that have been in people’s soul forever, but for which we never found the right words to reveal.
In Zermatt Philipp will stage one of his very selected shows in 2015. In an intimate set up with cello, piano and acoustic guitars – as upfront and personal as you can hardly get to see an artist nowadays.

Vernissage:
Billy Lockett
Northampton-based singer-songwriter Billy Lockett’s star continues to rise at a dizzying rate. Having been championed by Radio 1 for his most recent song ‘Pathways’ – which was played across all the daytime shows including Greg James, for whom he re-recorded ‘Pathways’ as a show jingle – Billy’s debut UK headline tour in March then completely sold out! Not bad for an artist still to sign a deal…
Billy has recently been out supporting Brit Award-nominated songstress Birdy in Europe. He spent three weeks on tour with her showcasing his stunning live set to audiences and winning fans across the continent, and on the back of that has recorded a batch of new tracks that will feature on his forthcoming third EP, which is being produced by Andy Green (Keane, The Feeling, Paolo Nutini).
Scheduled for release in the summer, the new EP further develops Billy’s sound and demonstrates an artist growing with every release. A stunning collection of songs, that will be supported by 21 live headline dates in the autumn and festival appearances, it’s sure to catapult Billy Lockett even further into public consciousness as one of the brightest stars of 2014.

Sunnegga:
Gabrielle
That Gabrielle dismisses her five years out of the limelight with a shrug and a smile won’t surprise her fans. The self-confessed shy singer may have sold more than 10 million records, but she was never one to work to pop’s regular treadmill schedule.
“I was notorious for taking three years between albums,” laughs Gabrielle. “I love making music, but not 365 days of the year. I’m probably just lazy, but I can’t force myself to write songs. I have to long to be back in the studio and feel good vibes when I’m recording.”
Working at her own pace and refusing to tailor her music to trends has always paid off for the Londoner who topped the charts with her debut single, Dreams, two decades ago, had ten Top 10 hits, won two Brit Awards and began her last sabbatical shortly after being awarded an Ivor Novello for Outstanding Song Collection in 2008.
