Before that, KT releases her totally addictive modern classic rock EP ‘Golden State’ today. Produced by Tony Hoffer, written by KT, and recorded in LA where she now lives, the 3 tracks exemplify the very best of guitar pop. Scotland born and Los Angeles based, KT Tunstall emerged with her 2004 debut ‘Eye To The Telescope’ and soon after won a BRIT Award, an Ivor Novello Award and earned Grammy and Mercury Prize nominations. Since then her music has figured prominently in film and television.

Sixteen years of touring across continents have sealed their reputation as a fearsome live act, able to hold any size crowd with the sheer chutzpah of their no-hidden-tricks raw and direct onstage presence. Turin Brakes carry on their secret life, and with a new generation of artists like Max Jury, Aquilo and Benjamin Francis Leftwich starting to beat a path to their door to collaborate, it looks like the secret is getting out.

VILLAGERS

a collection of songs that distils five years and three albums of Villagers’ songwriting into one flowing narrative. Recorded in one day at London’s RAK Studio with Richard Woodcraft (Radiohead, The Last Shadow Puppets) the album is a re-imagining of older material seamlessly woven with present glories from the more recent Darling Arithmetic. The unique nature of these arrangements is due in no small part to the musicians in the room at the time of recording: Cormac Curran on grand piano and analogue synthesizer, Danny Snow on double bass, Mali Llywelyn on harp, mellotron and vocals, and Gwion Llewelyn on drums, flugelhorn and vocals. The result is a lush, harmony-laden and vibrant document of a time and a place.
